Deal or no deal, be prepared

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-44904619

Regardkess of your affiliation, you should know that both sides – EU and UK – are working on the no deal scenario.

The article gives some indication of why and what that would look like.

A no deal would be horrendous impacting much more than we realise.

If the second referendum was to happen, would you change your vote?

i wouldn’t, but then I voted against the madness to start with. :-/

If you voted Leave, think on what this chaos would look like.

Google’s Android fine and consequences

Now this is an interesting read: https://bgr.com/2018/07/18/google-eu-fine-analysis-android-doesnt-need-to-be-free/

Google fixed the search options in Android, which is a “free” OS.

Like Facebook, Google needs user data and their search results to serve its own “real” customers.

Its interesting to see that it’s response is to consider charging for the OS.

Remember, who is the true customer and who is the real product…

Donnie Darko

As a birthday treat I decided to watch the Director’s cut version of Donnie Darko.

Its a brilliant film and this version is better for some of the small changes.

One thing though, Kitty, the “fear/love” woman is clearly presaging the blind following of folk like Jim Cunningham. Cunningham in the film has a “kiddie porn dungeon” and Kitty strikes up to find a way to address this conspiracy against because obviously it can’t be true.

This is so reminiscent of people blindly following Trump or Farage regardless of the obvious contradictions or clear evidence highlighting what these people really are.

Idiocracy is clearly coming to be reality.

Cabin Pressure – no surprise it breaks or broke records

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-44565410

For the BBC to write an article about the series suggests some big news is coming… At least, I hope so.

I’ve seen John Finnemore perform, I’ve listened to as much of his comedic output as I think it is possible to do.

His writing and even his overall manner is a nice gentle style of comedy that harks back to the golden age where there was no swearing or other “gritty” aspects, showing that no matter what, great comedy is great comedy and will attract any audience.

Long may MJN/OJS Air continue to fly and perhaps one day Addis Abbaba will be visited…
