Already had feedback about how my deletion has affected people’s timelines.
As one person said yesterday, watching Zuckerberg being interrogated by the senate committee highlights issues with the tools people use and how their data is then interpreted.
The last few comments of some people were telling for both their frankness, and reaffirming for the sense of friendship that was also being offered or confirmed.
That does mean I don’t feel quite as lonely, not being on Facebook, as I think I would be otherwise.
I listen to a lot of radio, usually comedies but also other items, which, as you’ll see, includes drama.
I recently listened to an abridged BBC Radio 4 adaptation of Reservoir 13 by Jon McGregor and was fascinated by it.
A girl goes missing. Whodunnit?
I’m not going to spoil the story, but will rbe commend that you consume it if you truly enjoy mysteries. Whether as an original book, or the abridged radio show, I think you’ll find it fascinating.
So, 35 minutes to go as I write this to the point when I delete(d) my Facebook account.

EDIT: 9:14pm
OK, button pressed. Seems that if you login in the next 14 days after you delete, you can reinstate – sort of a cooling off period.
So, about 24 hours to go before I delete my Facebook account.
Blog set up – obviously that’s what I am writing and hopefully you, yes, I mean you, are reading.
Working on sorting a suitable CMS, but that is proving interesting… Otherwise I may have to work on my HTML, CSS and other related skills ?
Today’s been fun catching up with friends on Messenger. I should have started this move ages ago – its given me free time I didn’t realise I had and reconnected me with friends that I have been missing.
Oh, and finally I have to make a comment or few on yesterday’s Grand Prix.
Hamilton did an amazing overtake, Vettel supported Hamilton’s comments about Verstappen – which was really positive to see. It was definitely a fun race and shows that even with the current rules, it is possible to have an interesting one.
So, from the outside the site hasn’t changed a great deal, but I’ve been doing a lot of things behind the scenes. Still lots more to do, but fun learning WordPress and refreshing my memory on various things.
For those interested in what those were, they included, to various levels of impact: HTML, CSS, JSON (one of the behind the scenes things), MySQL, PHP, backups (yeah I messed up my first install of WordPress – ho hum) and I am sure I’ve forgotten a few more.
Its also been interesting to note that I feel like I have more time, as I’ve deleted the Facebook apps off my phone ? and iPad and also remove the browser integration as well. This may lead to me doing more of my photography again and be prepared for me doing even more hobby work. (Yes, I may get to use my new iRigs keyboard). ?
